Joshua Martel, aka “Oowah” is a multidisciplinary artist, muralist, and musician whose work transcends boundaries melding the physical and spiritual into bold, surreal visions. Born in the Pacific Northwest, his art is deeply rooted in the raw beauty of coastal landscapes, indigenous wisdom, and the universal threads of transformation.  

From 2018 to 2020, Joshua honed his craft under the mentorship of renowned street artist “Faith47”, an experience that deepened his understanding of art as a vehicle for storytelling and social resonance. Since then, he has painted for clients ranging from “Starbucks to Michelin-starred restaurants, while his large-scale public installations have left lasting impressions in cities like Spokane, Washington and Portland, Oregon.  

Joshua’s signature style intricate black and white textures woven with classical surrealism evokes themes of emergence and resilience. But his work doesn’t stop at the visual in 2024, he began fusing murals with original soundscapes, creating immersive, multi-sensory experiences that invite collective participation.  

Now based in Germany, he draws inspiration from Europe’s rich artistic heritage, pushing his practice further into collaborative, boundary-defying projects. Whether on city walls, in galleries, or through music, Joshua’s art is an open invitation to dream, to reflect, and to connect.
